Apidura Backcountry Full Frame Pack - 6 L
The Apidura Backcountry Full Frame Pack is an ultra-durable, lightweight and seam-welded waterproof frame bag that fills the entire main triangle of a mountain bike for multi-day trips. Available in 2.5 L (215 g), 4 L (275 g) and 6 L (315 g), it carries heavier loads low in the frame, opens with a full-length dual zip and is compatible with the Frame Pack Hydration Bladder.
Why a full frame pack – and why this one
Heavy items such as cooking gear and larger tools upset bike handling when they sit high on the handlebar or behind the saddle. The main triangle is the most stable place on the bike to carry weight. The Backcountry Full Frame Pack makes full use of it on technical trails:
- Handling stays predictable. Utilising the full space within the frame keeps the centre of gravity low, with minimal effect on bike handling.
- Everything is easy to reach. A dual zip opening on the drive side gives access while riding and full visibility of the contents when stopped.
- Nothing rattles. Internal lash straps secure your belongings on rough terrain, and an anti-rattle pocket on the non-drive side keeps small items in place.
- Water without bottle cages. The pack takes the Frame Pack Hydration Bladder, with a mounting tab for stability and a hose port.
- Weather and trails are not a problem. Hexalon body fabric, 420D embossed nylon reinforcement and RF-welded seams make it waterproof and ultra-durable.
Who is it for?
- MTB bikepackers on multi-day off-road adventures who need maximum, stable frame storage.
- Riders carrying heavier kit – cooking gear, larger tools – who want it low in the frame.
- Off-road racers – the Backcountry Full Frame Pack was ridden to 1st place in the Hellenic Mountain Race (2025).
Which size? Frame pack size should be chosen by the dimensions and geometry of your frame, not by the capacity you want. Compare the dimension drawings below (2.5 L, 4 L and 6 L) with the inside of your frame's main triangle before choosing.

Frequently asked questions
What size Backcountry Full Frame Pack should I choose?
Choose by the physical dimensions and geometry of your frame, not by carrying capacity. Check the dimension drawings above against the inside of your frame's main triangle.
How do I carry water with a full frame pack?
The pack fills the space normally used by bottle cages, but it is compatible with the Frame Pack Hydration Bladder, which sits in the base of the pack; the drinking hose exits through the dedicated port for hands-free drinking. The underside of the downtube can also be used for an extra bottle.
How is it attached to the frame?
With Hypalon-reinforced velcro straps on the top tube (two on the 2.5 L, three on the 4 L and 6 L) and the seat tube (two), plus three nylon straps around the downtube.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. Bespoke materials and RF welding create watertight seams, and the zips are waterproof.
