The Apidura Backcountry Rear Top Tube Pack is a durable, seam-welded waterproof 1 L bag that mounts at the back of the top tube, against the seat post – adding storage where frame space is at a premium. It weighs 125 g, is 4.5 cm wide, opens with a fully waterproof zipper and is designed to work alongside the Backcountry Full Frame Pack.
Why a rear top tube bag – and why this one
On modern mountain bike geometries, a full frame bag fills the main triangle and the front of the top tube is often taken by the stem area – yet there is still useful space at the rear of the top tube. The Backcountry Rear Top Tube Pack uses that space for the small items you need during the day:
- More storage on a full bike. It attaches to the top tube and seat post and is designed for compatibility with the Backcountry Full Frame Pack, as part of a larger bikepacking setup.
- Access while riding. A fully waterproof zipper with a one-finger puller keeps out water and dirt while making it easy to reach the contents mid-ride.
- Contents protected on rough trails. Closed cell foam padding and an HDPE integrated structure protect what is inside, and an internal mesh pocket stops small items from rattling.
- Your knees stay clear. The pack is designed to maximise storage space without getting in the way.

Care & maintenance
- Lubricate zippers – clean and lubricate regularly with silicone- or petroleum-based grease to maintain performance.
- Spot clean only – stains can be spot treated with concentrated dishwashing liquid. Abrasion is not recommended.
Frequently asked questions
Will the Backcountry Rear Top Tube Pack fit my bike?
In most cases, yes – it straps to standard, oval and oversized top tubes and to the seat post. On smaller frames, check the length of the pack against the available space (see the dimension drawing above).
How does it mount?
Without tools: one Hypalon-reinforced velcro strap goes around the top tube, and two around the seat post. Unlike front-mounted top tube packs, it uses a rear stability strap instead of a steerer strap.
Will my phone fit?
It has a low profile and may not fit larger phones. Compare the dimensions in the drawing above with your phone before buying.
Can I use it together with a frame pack?
Yes – it is designed for compatibility with the Backcountry Full Frame Pack and is ideal as part of a larger bikepacking setup.
