Apidura Cargo Cage
The Apidura Cargo Cage is a lightweight anodised aluminium cage for two- and three-bolt accessory mounts on forks and downtubes, adding extra carrying capacity for bikepacking. At just 85 g it is streamlined for chainring and crank arm clearance and works with the Expedition Cargo Cage Pack, Expedition Downtube Packs, Voile straps or webbing and buckles.
Why a cargo cage – and why this one
When the frame bags are full, the fork legs and the underside of the downtube are the obvious place for extra kit – but only if the mount is secure, light and fits your bike. The Cargo Cage addresses this:
- It fits your mounts. The mounting plate takes two-bolt mounts and can be extended to fit three-bolt mounts.
- It works with what you already carry. The universal strap attachment system works with Apidura Expedition packs, Voile straps, or webbing and buckles – with or without a pack.
- It does not get in the way. The compact, streamlined design fits most downtubes with clearance for chainrings and crank arms.
- It survives the weather. Anodised aluminium with stainless steel fixtures gives enhanced corrosion resistance and a scratch-resistant finish.
- It barely adds weight. Ultralight construction at only 85 g.
Who is it for?
- Bikepackers and tourers who need extra capacity on the fork legs or under the downtube.
- Expedition Cargo Cage Pack and Expedition Downtube Pack users looking for a matching mount.
- Riders who strap gear directly to the bike – the cage fits common bikepacking accessories, with or without a pack.
