Apidura Expedition Downtube Pack – 1.2L
The Apidura Expedition Downtube Pack is a lightweight, waterproof, seam-welded bag that straps under the downtube of bikes without accessory mounts, and can also hold a bottle of up to 710 ml. It weighs 80 g, fits tubes with a circumference of 12–18 cm and mounts with a single-motion velcro attachment. This is the previous-generation model; Apidura has since released a new-style Expedition Downtube Pack.
Why a downtube pack – and why this one
Bikes without extra bottle or accessory mounts leave little room for spares and long-distance essentials, and the underside of the downtube is space that often goes unused. The Expedition Downtube Pack makes use of it:
- No mounts or cage needed. It is designed to work without mounts or a cage, so you can place it wherever on the tube it is needed.
- Quick to fit. The single-motion velcro attachment and stability system secure it to tubes of varying diameters.
- It can hold a bottle. The capacity is enough for a 710 ml water bottle, so it works as a bottle holder bag on bikes with limited bottle storage in the main triangle.
- Flexible and compressible. A roll-down closure adjusts the carrying capacity for spares and essentials.
- Contents stay clean and dry. The waterproof, seam-welded construction protects what is inside.
- Gentle on the frame. Padding reduces friction with the bike frame.
