Apidura Expedition Handlebar Pack - 14 L
The Apidura Expedition Handlebar Pack is a modular, fully waterproof, seam-welded handlebar bag for lightweight, compressible bikepacking kit that leaves room for your hands on drop bars. Available in 9 L (436 g) and 14 L (448 g), it mounts without clamps via the BarSpace system and accepts the Expedition Front Cargo Mesh, Front Accessory Pack, GPS Mount and Accessory Arm.
Why a handlebar pack – and why this one
The handlebar is the natural place for a sleeping bag, shelter or spare layers – but many handlebar bags sway, need extra hardware, and crowd your hands on the hoods and in the drops. The Expedition Handlebar Pack addresses these problems:
- It stays stable without clamps. Two BarSpace modules interface with the handlebars, a Stability Cord holds tension around bars and stem, and a Preload Strap provides counter-tension around the steerer.
- Your hands keep their space. The BarSpace modules keep the pack away from the handlebars, and the side-roll closures are optimised for hand clearance on drop bars.
- It fits the load you carry. Roll-down ends with G-hook closures and the hardware-free SoftVent Air Valve let you adjust the size and compress smaller loads.
- Your gear stays dry. Expedition grade fabric and RF-welded seams make the pack 100% waterproof.
- Clean bars when it is off. Set it up once, then attach and remove it in seconds.
Who is it for?
- Bikepackers and tourers who carry bulky but light kit such as sleeping gear or clothing at the front.
- Drop-bar gravel and road riders who want a handlebar bag that does not restrict hand positions.
- Riders building a modular front setup with the Expedition Front Cargo Mesh, Front Accessory Pack, GPS Mount and Accessory Arm.
Which size? The 9 L is best for handlebars 42 cm wide and narrower. The larger pack is best for handlebars 44 cm and wider, where tyre and frame clearance allow. Check the dimension drawings below for detailed measurements.

Frequently asked questions
How is the Expedition Handlebar Pack attached?
With the BarSpace attachment system: two handlebar modules, a Stability Cord and a Preload Strap hold the load stable without clamps.
Can I mount a GPS, lights or an action camera?
Yes. The pack has two 3-prong style attachment points for direct device mounting. The Expedition GPS Mount and Accessory Arm are designed for it, and third-party mounts work too, as long as they have a standard 3-prong interface at the base.
Can I use it with carbon handlebars or an integrated cockpit?
For carbon handlebars, check with the handlebar manufacturer first: the system does not use clamps, but only the manufacturer can confirm the load and mounting limits. Integrated or aero one-piece cockpits are generally not compatible, as the BarSpace modules need a standard, round handlebar profile.
How does the SoftVent Air Valve work?
The SoftVent valve is built into the fabric layers of the pack instead of a plastic purge valve. Trapped air escapes when you roll or compress the bag, so you can pack your gear down without extra hardware.
