Apidura Expedition Saddle Pack - 14 L
The Apidura Expedition Saddle Pack is a waterproof, lightweight saddle bag that uses the space under the saddle, so clothes and equipment can travel on long rides without a rear rack. Available in 9 L (325 g), 14 L (350 g) and 17 L (425 g), it attaches with a three-point system, has a roll-down compression closure and a laser-cut light attachment. This is the previous-generation model, offered here while stock lasts.
Why a saddle pack – and why this one
A saddle bag should carry real volume, stay still behind you and keep gear dry. The Expedition Saddle Pack addresses these points:
- No rear rack needed. It provides a spacious compartment under the saddle, designed to hold clothes and equipment on long-distance rides.
- It stays put. A three-point attachment system with Hypalon-reinforced velcro straps lets the bag hug the seat post, increasing stability and cutting down on lateral movement.
- Your frame is protected. Additional Hypalon on the bag's body keeps frames in good condition.
- Volume matches the trip. Three sizes cover long, short and in-between adventures, and the roll-down compression and closure system tailors the volume to what you pack.
- Your gear stays dry. The laminate is highly resistant to abrasions and tears, and welded seams create a waterproof seal that keeps contents dry even in sustained rain.
- Extra carrying capacity. A bungee tie down allows additional gear to be carried.
Who is it for?
- Long-distance riders and tourers who want to carry clothes and equipment without a rear rack.
- Bikepackers on shorter trips who can choose the smaller 9 L size.
- All-weather riders who need contents to stay dry in sustained rain.
Which size? Choose 9 L, 14 L or 17 L according to trip length and what you carry, and compare the dimension drawings below with your saddle and seatpost area.

Materials & technology
- Welded waterproof – cut from a three-layer laminate fabric developed specifically for Apidura: lightweight, resistant to tears and abrasion, and welded at the seams for a watertight seal.
The attachment points are reinforced with Hypalon, a rubberised nylon that provides extra protection against friction and abrasion. Woojin buckles are used on the straps for their strength and reliability, and a lightweight moulded HDPE thermoplastic section in the lower part of the bag reinforces its structure.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the current Apidura saddle pack?
No. This is the previous-generation Expedition Saddle Pack (9 L, 14 L, 17 L). Apidura has since introduced a redesigned Expedition Saddle Pack with different sizes. This model remains a proven, fully waterproof design and is offered while stock lasts.
Do I need a rear rack?
No. The pack provides a spacious compartment under the saddle, eliminating the need for a rear rack.
How is it attached?
With a three-point attachment system: Hypalon-reinforced velcro straps let the bag hug the seat post, which increases stability and cuts down on lateral movement.
Can I carry less than a full bag?
Yes. The roll-down compression and closure system means the volume can be tailored precisely to your packing needs.
