Booda Bike eccentric BB tool
The Booda Bike eccentric BB tool turns the eccentric bottom bracket of your Booda Bike in small, controlled steps, so you can set the Gates belt tension yourself.

Why this tool?
Made for the job. Booda Bike's belt tension guide uses this tool to rotate the eccentric.
Small steps. The guide has you turn the eccentric in small steps and check the tension after each one.
A clear direction. Turning it so the crank axle moves away from the rear wheel raises the tension; towards the rear wheel lowers it.
Works with a 4 mm Allen key. You first loosen the three cap bolts with a 4 mm Allen key and tighten them afterwards to a maximum of 5 Nm.

Why the tension matters
Too little tension lets the belt skip over the teeth, which can damage the carbon cords; too much can damage the hub bearings and makes the drive drag. The eccentric is how a Booda Bike sets it between the two.
How to set the belt tension
- Check the tension with a belt tension tester. Only adjust if the belt reads outside the green range.
- Mark the current position of the eccentric cap against the frame.
- Loosen the 3 bolts on the non-drive-side cap with a 4 mm Allen key, just enough for the eccentric to turn.
- Rotate the eccentric with the tool in small steps: away from the rear wheel increases the tension, towards the rear wheel reduces it.
- Check the tension after each small step.
- Tighten the 3 bolts evenly to a maximum of 5 Nm, then check the tension again.
- Turn the cranks 10 to 15 times and check that the belt runs straight on both sprockets.
Who is it for?
- Booda Bike owners. Who check and adjust the belt tension of their bike themselves.
- Workshops. Who service Booda Bike frames with an eccentric bottom bracket.

Frequently asked questions
What is the eccentric BB tool for?
It turns the eccentric bottom bracket of a Booda Bike frame in small steps, which moves the crank axle slightly forward or back and sets the belt tension.
Which way do I turn it?
Turn the eccentric so the crank axle moves away from the rear wheel to increase the tension, and towards the rear wheel to reduce it. Check the tension after each small step.
What belt tension should I aim for?
Booda Bike's guide quotes Gates: 35–50 Hz for gear hubs, and for single speed 45–60 Hz with a smooth riding style or 60–75 Hz with a punchy one. On the Gates tension tester the belt should read green; a newly fitted belt is set to 50% green and 50% yellow because it settles once.
Do I need other tools as well?
Yes: a 4 mm Allen key for the cap bolts, a torque wrench for tightening them to a maximum of 5 Nm, and a belt tension tester to check the result.

About Booda Bike
Booda Bike builds belt-driven bicycles around steel frames, with Gates Carbon Drive belts and gear hub or single-speed drivetrains. The range includes the Banker, Hiker, Alpine, Atlas, Pulse and Sander models.
The components are standardised so that Booda Bike bicycles can be serviced at ordinary workshops, and parts like this one are also sold separately in the Booda Bike webshop.
