Gates Carbon Drive Spider – BOSCH Gen4, 130 mm BCD, 5-arm, S5B4BM +15.2
The Gates Carbon Drive Spider – Bosch Gen4, 130 mm BCD, 5-arm, S5B4BM +15.2 carries a 5-bolt, 130 mm BCD Gates front sprocket on the Bosch Gen4 e-bike motor, so the belt drive runs from the motor. A Gates spider is the adapter between the motor’s output shaft and the front sprocket.
Why choose the Gates spider?
Made for the motor. The spider is made for the Bosch Gen4 motor and carries a 130 mm BCD, 5-arm sprocket.
Belt drive on an e-bike. Lets a mid-drive e-bike run on a Gates belt instead of a chain: clean, quiet, no lubrication.
Pairs with CDC and CDX sprockets. Use it with a 5-bolt, 130 mm BCD Gates front sprocket from the CDC or CDX line.
Version +15.2. Gates designation S5B4BM +15.2. Gates lists more than one version for some motors, so check which one suits your frame.

Which spider do I need?
The spider is chosen by the motor and by the version: for the Bosch Gen4 Gates lists S5B4BM +15.2 (this one) and S5B4BM +9.0. Tell us your motor and frame and we will confirm which one lines up your belt.

Check the maximum motor torque
Gates rates its CDC line for mid-drive e-bike motors up to 75 Nm and its CDX line up to 120 Nm. Choose the sprocket and belt line to match your motor’s torque, and use the Gates e-bike configurator to check your setup.

Frequently asked questions
What does a spider do?
The spider mounts on the motor’s output shaft and has five arms with bolt holes on a 130 mm circle. The Gates front sprocket bolts onto it, so the motor drives the belt.
What do CDX, CDC and CDN mean?
They are Gates’ three belt-drive lines for bicycles: CDX (top of the range), CDC (mid-range) and CDN (entry level). Gates rates CDX for hub motors and mid-drive e-bike motors up to 120 Nm, CDC for mid-drive motors up to 75 Nm, and CDN for hub-motor e-bikes and casual riding.
Can I mix CDX, CDC and CDN parts?
CDX, CDC and CDN are all CenterTrack parts with an 11 mm pitch, so belts and sprockets from these lines fit together – each part keeps its own rating, and a drivetrain is only as strong as its weakest part. The older SideTrack (ST) range does not fit CenterTrack parts.
When should I replace a sprocket?
Check your sprockets from time to time. Worn teeth cause noise, tooth jump and faster wear on the belt, so replace the sprocket when the teeth are worn. A sprocket in good condition has even, undamaged teeth.
