Hiplok Z LOK – Black
The Hiplok Z LOK (ZLK1AB, Black) is the world's first secured, reusable zip tie: a lockable security tie with a reinforced steel core that fastens down while it locks. Pocket-sized protection against the opportunist thief for café stops, car racks, helmets and wheels.

Why a Z LOK in your pocket?
Steel core. A reinforced steel insert inside the toughened nylon strap resists the scissors and knives that defeat an ordinary zip tie.
Lock & Hold. The ratchet pulls down and locks at the same time, so wheels, helmets and bags stay tight and do not rattle or slip.
Reusable. Unlike a cable tie you cut off, Z LOK opens with its universal key and can be used again and again.
40 cm locking length. Long enough to go round a wheel and fork, a helmet strap or a rack upright.
Always with you. Featherweight and small enough for a jersey pocket, saddle bag or glovebox.
Award-winning. Winner of the Design and Innovation Award 2018.

Quick protection when a heavy lock is overkill
Most thefts are opportunistic: a helmet left on the bars, a wheel that spins free, a bike on the car rack while you grab a coffee. Carrying a heavy lock for a two-minute stop feels absurd, so many riders leave things unsecured. Z LOK closes that gap, and the discreet black finish blends in with the bike.

Bags, helmets and accessories
Secure a bag, a helmet or other accessories to the bike. Use Z LOK as a secondary lock: it secures the front wheel or helmet while your main D lock or chain secures the frame.

On the car rack
Lock wheels to the rack, or bikes to each other, on the roof or tow bar during short stops on the way to the trail.
Who is it for?
- Road and gravel riders. Something for café stops without carrying a full lock.
- Drivers with bike racks. Wheels to the rack, bikes to each other, on the roof or tow bar.
- Commuters. Secure a helmet, front wheel or bag in addition to the main lock.
- Outdoor and family use. Skis, snowboards, scooters, buggies, gates and luggage.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Hiplok Z LOK be cut?
Z LOK has a reinforced steel core, so it cannot be snipped with scissors or a knife like a normal zip tie. It is designed against opportunist theft; for longer stops use a Sold Secure rated D lock or chain as your main lock.
Is Z LOK reusable?
Yes. Z LOK unlocks with its key and can be used as many times as you like.
How do I fit it round a wheel?
Thread it through the wheel spokes and the fork or frame, then pull the tie tight before locking. The 40 cm locking length is enough for a road-bike wheel and fork, a helmet strap or a rack arm.
Can Z LOK replace my main lock?
No. It is not a replacement for a main lock when you leave your bike for long periods or overnight.
What else can I lock with it?
Helmets, bags, car racks, skis and snowboards, scooters, buggies, gates and luggage.
About Hiplok
Hiplok is a British bike-security brand, founded after a bike theft in 2009 by product designers and everyday cyclists Ben Smith and John Abrahams. From its UK design headquarters it develops locks that solve real problems riders have, starting with the Hiplok ORIGINAL, the world's first wearable bike lock.
Every Hiplok lock goes through a full testing and development process using real-world attack methods, and the brand's innovations have earned awards such as BikeBiz Brand of the Year 2024. Today Hiplok makes wearable chains, D locks, folding locks, security ties, anchors and storage for bicycles, e-bikes and motorcycles, sold around the world.
