Why this trekking fork?

  • Tapered steerer. 28.6 mm (1 1/8") at the top and 39.8 mm at the base, so it takes a tapered headset such as Booda Bike's headset kit for tapered forks.
  • 12 mm thru-axle. Drawn for a 12 mm thru-axle and a 100 mm wide front hub, the same front-end standard as the Road and Wide gravel forks.
  • 398 mm axle-to-crown. That is 31 mm more than the 367 mm of the Road fork (drawing values, ±1 mm), so check the fork length your frame is designed for.
  • No light cable channel. Please note: the Booda Bike drawing and the photos of this fork show a lighting cable channel, but this model does not have one. If you want the channel, choose the Booda Bike Carbon Fork – Trekking, With lighting cable channel instead. This is the plain version. If you want to run a dynamo lighting cable through the fork, the matching model is the Trekking fork with a lighting cable channel.

Choose by the cable channel

The Trekking fork comes in two versions: this one without a light cable channel, and one with it. Pick this one when your lighting does not run through the fork. On Booda Bike builds, the dynamo lighting upgrade swaps in the channel version.

Who is it for?

  • Trekking and touring builders. Who want a carbon fork for a frame designed around a 398 mm axle-to-crown height.
  • Riders without a dynamo light. Who use battery lights or none at all and do not need a channel in the fork.
  • Frame and bike builders. Who spec the fork into their own frames and need its steerer, axle and length values.

Frequently asked questions

Does this Trekking fork have a lighting cable channel?

No. The Booda Bike Carbon Fork – Trekking, Without light cable channel has no channel for a lighting cable. For a fork with one, choose the Booda Bike Carbon Fork – Trekking, With lighting cable channel.

What steerer and axle standard does it use?

According to the Booda Bike drawing for the Trekking fork it has a tapered steerer (28.6 mm at the top, 39.8 mm at the base), 300 mm long as supplied, and 12 mm thru-axle dropouts for a 100 mm hub width. The axle-to-crown height is 398 mm (±1).

Which headset does this fork need?

A tapered headset. Booda Bike's headset kit for tapered forks matches the 28.6 mm to 39.8 mm steerer, and your frame's head tube must be built for that headset as well.

What should I check before ordering?

That your frame is designed for a 398 mm axle-to-crown tapered fork, that your front wheel has a 12 mm thru-axle and a 100 mm hub width, and that you do not need a light cable channel. The brake mount standard and rotor size are not in our product data yet, so ask us before you order if they matter for your build.
