The Rohloff A12 Reduction Sleeve, left-hand (8592) adapts a 12 mm thru-axle dropout to the 7 mm axle bolt of the Speedhub 500/14 A12 – the standard sleeve for DT Swiss/Maxle, Syntace X-12 and Shimano E-Thru frames.

Why the original sleeve?

  • 12 mm to 7 mm. A12 reduction sleeves reduce the 12 mm thru-axle opening to 7 mm for the M7x1 Rohloff axle bolts.
  • The most-used sleeve. Rohloff uses 8592 on the left side of DT/Maxle, Syntace and Shimano E-Thru frames – and also on the right with Syntace V1 and E-Thru.
  • Measured, not guessed. Rohloff states that 12 mm thru-axle frames must be measured with the A12 dropout measurement kit (Art. 8600) to work out which reduction sleeves and spacers are needed.

Who is it for?

  • Owners of an A12 Speedhub. A spare for the left dropout of almost every A12 installation.
  • Workshops. The sleeve that appears in nearly every A12 fitting list.

Frequently asked questions

Is this sleeve enough on its own?

Depends on the dropout: on Syntace frames it goes with the conical spacer 8594, on Shimano E-Thru with the spacer 8596/8597, on DT/Maxle it is inserted into the spacer from outside.

Are there other lengths?

Rohloff also lists 8592S special sizes for non-standard frames. If your hub came with a "Custom" label, follow the article number on that label – ask us if unsure.
