The Rohloff DH Chain Tensioner Shorty (Art. 8245) is the compact chain tensioner for downhill and extreme off-road SPEEDHUB bikes with a standard derailleur hanger.

Why the DH Shorty?

  • Derailleur hanger mount. Bolts to the standard derailleur hanger like the standard Rohloff tensioner.
  • Made for SPEEDHUB. Rohloff recommends it for downhill riders and extreme off-road athletes.
  • Serviceable. Replacement arm 8246 is available separately.

The standard tensioner 8250 has the full 10-link capacity; the Shorty is the compact choice for downhill and extreme off-road use.

Which sprockets work with it?

The Rohloff export price list notes 15–17 tooth sprockets with the splined carrier S (8540S). Ask us to check your setup.

Is there a version for fatbikes?

Yes, the DH Shorty -10 mm (8245-10).
