The Rohloff E-14 Diagnostic Kit BES3 (Art. 8815-04) lets a workshop find a faulty E-14 component on a Bosch Smart System e-bike by cross exchange – swapping each part for a known-good one, step by step.

Why the Diagnostic Kit?

  • Workshop tool. In Rohloff’s diagnostic kits the shifter unit is supplied for diagnosis and cross exchange only, not for resale.

Rohloff’s procedure starts with the shifter unit, then the handlebar switch unit, the extension cable and finally the converter/adapter.

What should I do after finding the fault?

Rohloff asks you to report the result in the "E-14 warranty claim" section of its online service form.

Is it for private riders?

It is a workshop tool. Riders with an E-14 fault should take the bike to a Rohloff service centre.
