Two Rohloff freewheel springs for the SPEEDHUB 500/14
Rohloff 8275 freewheel springs, 2 pieces.

Why keep spare springs?

  • Easy to lose. Rohloff warns that the springs can fall out if the wheel is tilted after removing the gear mech.
  • Needed for refitting. Before the gear mech goes back on, both freewheel springs must be present and correctly seated.
  • Genuine Rohloff part. The right spring rate for the SPEEDHUB – no guessing with look-alike springs.
  • Pair pack. Two springs, the full set for one hub.

Who is it for?

  • Riders servicing their own gear mech. Keep a pair in the tool box before removing the gear mech.
  • Workshops. A cheap part that prevents a stalled job.

Frequently asked questions

When do I need new freewheel springs?

When one is lost or damaged while the gear mech is off. Rohloff asks you to check that both are present and correctly fitted before refitting the gear mech.

How do I avoid losing them?

After removing the gear mech, keep the wheel flat with the gear mech side up and do not tilt it – otherwise oil can run out and the springs can drop.
