Rohloff OEM2 Adapter for M5 fender/luggage rack bolt – M5
The Rohloff OEM2 Adapter M5 (8552) lets the OEM2 axle plate of a SPEEDHUB 500/14 anchor on an M5 hole in the dropout – for example a fender or rack eyelet – where Rohloff normally requires an M6 bolt.

Why the M5 adapter?
Uses the M5 eyelet. It lets the OEM2 axle plate lock onto an M5 anchoring point instead of an M6 bolt.
Defined position. Rohloff only allows this when the hole sits behind a vertical line through the axle.
No long torque arm. A tidy solution without a separate torque arm on the chainstay.
Rohloff part. Shown in Rohloff’s OEM documentation for OEM2 mounting with eccentric bottom brackets.

How it fits
The adapter is mounted at the M5 hole of the dropout and the OEM2 axle plate locks around it, so the hub torque is taken by the frame.

Important limits
Rohloff does not allow this mounting on e-bikes or tandems: there an OEM2 hub may only be anchored with a Speedbone, Monkey Bone or PM Bone.
Who is it for?
- Riders of non-assisted touring bikes. Frames with a suitable M5 eyelet behind the axle.
- Frame builders. A neat anchoring point for OEM2 SPEEDHUB builds.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use any rack eyelet?
Only if it lies behind a vertical line through the axle and suits the OEM2 axle plate. Send us a photo of your dropout and we will check it.
Does Rohloff need anything from the frame maker?
Rohloff permits OEM2 mounting on frames approved by the frame maker; otherwise it is at your own risk.
What if the eyelet is M6?
Then the OEM2 axle plate can lock around an M6 bolt directly and you do not need this adapter.
