The Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 Oil Set 1 L (8406) is the workshop set for 40 oil changes: 1 litre of cleaning oil and 500 ml of SPEEDHUB all-season gear oil.

Why this oil set?

  • 40 oil changes. 25 ml cleaning oil and 12.5 ml gear oil per service – this set covers 40.
  • Workshop size. One stock of oil for many customer bikes instead of single kits.
  • Readily biodegradable. Both Rohloff oils are classed as readily biodegradable according to OECD 301.
  • Genuine Rohloff oils. The only oils Rohloff permits in the SPEEDHUB.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need drain screws as well?

The old drain screw can be reused while its sealant is intact. If you want a new screw for every service, choose the set with 40 drain screws (8406S).

How should the oil be stored?

Rohloff says: protect from direct sunlight and keep out of reach of children.

Can I use another gear oil?

Only Rohloff oils (gear oil and cleaning oil) may be used in the SPEEDHUB – other lubricants or additives can damage plastic parts inside the hub.
