The Rohloff Revolver 3 (2300) is a workshop-grade chain riveting tool that opens, shortens and closes bicycle chains with precision – from singlespeed chains to current 12-speed derailleur chains, with a second spindle for Campagnolo.

Why the Revolver 3?

  • Chain clamped firmly. The chain is held tight in the tool during every step, so each pin goes in straight and exactly.
  • One tool for many chains. 1/2" × 3/32" and 1/2" × 1/8" chains, 8- to 12-speed, including current 12-speed chains.
  • Campagnolo too. The second spindle in the box handles 10-, 11- and 12-speed Campagnolo chains.
  • Built to last. High-quality nylon and hardened steel, with tungsten carbide where the loads are highest.
  • Every joining method. Works with reusable riveting pins, separate connecting pins (Shimano and Campagnolo) and chain locks, and rivets chains with straight or cranked outer plates.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on 12-speed chains?

Yes. Rohloff states that current 12-speed chains can be opened and shortened with the Revolver 3.

Can I use it on the chain of my Rohloff Speedhub bike?

Yes. Speedhub bikes with a chain usually run singlespeed-width chains, and the Revolver 3 handles both 3/32" and 1/8" chains.

What if a part wears out?

Rohloff supplies the body, breech, knurled nut, spring/ball/lock washer and both spindles as spare parts, so the tool can be repaired instead of replaced.
