The Rohloff TX20 Torx T-Grip key (8504) is the T-handle Torx driver for nearly every small screw on a Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 – hub cap, axle plate, cable box and shifter screws.

Why the T-Grip key?

  • Pressure on the centre. Rohloff recommends a T-grip for Torx screws because it keeps pressure centred on the screw head – no rounded heads.
  • Made for the Speedhub. Fits the M4 screws of the hub cap, axle plate, cable box cover and external gear mech.
  • Good feel. The T-handle lets you feel the low torques (2–3 Nm) the Speedhub needs.
  • In every Rohloff kit. The same key is part of the Rohloff Toolkit (8500) and Service Kit (8700).

Where you need it

Hub cap screws, axle plate screws, cable box cover bolts, external gear mech guide pin bolts, twist shifter cable guide and clamp bolts, chain tensioner and chain guide bolts – all TX20 on the Speedhub.

  • Speedhub owners. The one key you need for most routine work on the hub.
  • Touring riders. Light enough to carry on a long trip.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need it for an oil change?

The oil drain screw uses a 3 mm Allen key, not TX20. The TX20 key is for hub cap, axle plate, cable box and shifter screws.

Is it included in the Toolkit?

Yes, the Rohloff Toolkit (8500) contains this key along with the sprocket remover, oil change kit, cable hook and measuring aids.
