Tubus Fly Classic rear rack – Black
The Tubus Fly Classic rear rack in black (art. 40000) is a light, purist two-tube rack made of 25CrMo4 steel for 26" and 28" wheels – it carries up to 18 kg of panniers or luggage and keeps a touring or trekking bike looking clean.

Why the Tubus Fly Classic?
Chromoly steel. Two bent tubes of 25CrMo4 chromoly steel, 10 mm in diameter – strong enough for 18 kg, light and slim on the bike.
Purist design. Built from just two bent tubes – Tubus calls it the purist in the lightweight class.
Room for real tyres. Clearance for tyres up to 45 mm and mudguards up to 50 mm wide on 26" and 28" wheels.
Rear light mount. Holes with 50 mm spacing for a standard rack-mounted rear light.
Mounting hardware included. Fitted at the frame's rack eyelets and, at the top, to the brake bridge.

Light touring, done simply
The Fly Classic is made for riders who want to carry a pair of panniers or a bag on the platform without a heavy, bulky rack. The black finish disappears on a dark frame.
On our Booda Bike Banker, Tailor, Hiker and Pulse – Rohloff the Fly Classic can be ordered pre-installed.
Who is it for?
- Commuters. Who carry a laptop pannier or shopping every day and want a rack that does not dominate the bike.
- Light tourers and randonneurs. Up to 18 kg of luggage on a sporty trekking bike.
- Owners of steel frames. A slim steel rack that matches the look of a classic frame.
- Booda Bike riders. The rack we fit to our own trekking models.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Tubus Fly Classic fit my bike?
It fits 26" and 28" bikes with rack eyelets at the dropouts, tyres up to about 45 mm and a frame width of 150–180 mm at the dropouts. If your frame has no eyelets, Tubus only permits mounting with its clamp adapter set (sold separately). Send us a photo of your rear dropouts and we will check it.
Can I mount a child seat on it?
No. Tubus does not approve the Fly Classic for child seats.
Will my panniers scratch the rack?
Tubus recommends protecting every contact point of the bag hooks with its protective film or abrasion protection set.
Do I need to check the bolts?
Yes. Tubus asks you to check the bolts with a torque wrench after the first 100 km and then every 500 km.
