Possible Stem 35/5: 35 mm length, 5° rise, 31.8 mm bar clamp.

Why this short stem?

  • Just 35 mm long. The short body keeps the handlebar close to the steerer, which shortens the reach to the grips. The length is marked on the stem itself.
  • Made for 31.8 mm bars. The clamp is sized for handlebars with a 31.8 mm diameter. It is not meant for 35 mm bars.
  • Four-bolt faceplate. The bar sits in a two-part clamp held by four bolts, with a window cut into the faceplate.
  • 5° rise. The stem tilts 5 degrees upward, so the grips sit a little higher than they would on a flat stem.

A closer look at the clamp

The handlebar clamp opens toward the front, and the 35mm marking is printed on the body next to it. Because the stem is so short, the clamp and the steerer end sit very close together.

Who is it for?

  • Riders who want a short cockpit. If your current stem leaves the grips too far away, a 35 mm stem moves them closer to you.
  • Builders comparing lengths. At 35 mm this is the shortest stem in the Possible range we list; the 45/5 has the same rise and clamp size and is 10 mm longer.
  • Owners of 31.8 mm handlebars. Anyone with a standard 31.8 mm bar and a steerer that suits this stem.

Frequently asked questions

What do the numbers in Possible Stem 35/5 mean?

The first number is the stem length in millimetres (35 mm) and the second is the rise angle in degrees (5°). The 31.8 mm in the name is the handlebar clamp diameter.

Is a 35 mm stem too short for me?

It depends on your frame and how you like to sit. A shorter stem brings the grips closer and generally makes steering feel quicker, while a longer one stretches you out. If you are between sizes, ask us before ordering.

Which steerer does it fit?

The product data gives the handlebar clamp (31.8 mm) but not the steerer size. If you are not sure whether the stem suits your fork, ask us before you order.
