The FSA SL-K ITC is a carbon seatpost from FSA's SL-K range: a 300 mm long, matte black UD carbon shaft with a Ø27.2 mm diameter and a bonded, forged alloy Independent Top Clamp (ITC) head with chromoly hardware. Our version has its own clean graphics: we had FSA's standard SL-K decals replaced by a single white FSA logo, for a calmer, more understated look.

Why the SL-K ITC?

  • Our own clean graphics. We modified the design on purpose. Instead of the standard SL-K lettering and stripes, the matte black shaft carries only one white FSA logo, so the seatpost stays understated and fits the clean lines of a Booda Bike.
  • UD carbon shaft. A unidirectional carbon fibre shaft with a matte black finish. FSA positions the SL-K range for serious road and cyclocross riders.
  • Forged alloy ITC head. ITC stands for Independent Top Clamp: a forged alloy head bonded to the carbon shaft that holds the saddle rails.
  • Ø27.2 mm shaft. Made for seat tubes with a 27.2 mm inner diameter.
  • Chromoly hardware. The head bolts are made of chromoly steel.
  • Insertion mark. A 100 mm minimum-insertion mark on the shaft shows how deep the post has to sit in the frame.

A calmer look, on purpose

Design matters to us, down to the seatpost. The catalogue version of the SL-K ITC comes with coloured SL-K lettering and stripes; for our bikes we had the graphics changed to a single white FSA logo on matte black. The result is a quieter, more refined seatpost that does not draw attention away from the frame.

Who is it for?

  • Riders with a 27.2 mm seat tube. Who want to swap an alloy seatpost for a carbon one.
  • Riders who like a clean build. Matte black with one discreet logo, without loud decals.
  • Road and cyclocross riders. The use the SL-K range is made for, according to FSA.

Fitting

  1. Check that the inner diameter of your seat tube is 27.2 mm.
  2. Insert the shaft at least to the 100 mm minimum-insertion mark; the mark must stay inside the frame. If your frame maker specifies a deeper insertion, follow that.
  3. Tighten the frame's seat clamp to the torque the frame maker specifies, and do not over-tighten it.
  4. Set the saddle position and tilt, then tighten the head bolts to the torque marked on the head or given by FSA.

Frequently asked questions

Why does it look different from the SL-K ITC in FSA's catalogue?

Because we changed it on purpose. FSA's standard version has coloured SL-K lettering and stripes; ours has a single white FSA logo on a matte black shaft, for a cleaner, more understated look that suits our bikes. The seatpost itself – shaft, ITC head and hardware – is the same FSA SL-K ITC.

Which seat tube does the FSA SL-K ITC seatpost fit?

The shaft diameter is 27.2 mm, so it fits seat tubes with a 27.2 mm inner diameter. If you are unsure, measure the inner diameter of your seat tube or check your frame's specification before ordering.

How deep does the seatpost have to go into the frame?

The shaft carries a 100 mm minimum-insertion mark. The mark must be fully inside the seat tube, so never raise the post beyond it. If your frame maker requires a deeper insertion, follow the frame maker.

What does ITC mean?

ITC is FSA's name for the Independent Top Clamp, the forged alloy head of this seatpost that holds the saddle rails.

Are a saddle or a seat clamp included?

No. The product is the seatpost only. The shaft is held in the frame by the frame's own seat clamp, and the saddle is sold separately.

Does the warranty cover damage at the seatpost clamp?

According to FSA's warranty terms, carbon seatposts that are cracked, damaged or broken in the area where the seatpost clamp tightens the post are not covered. Tighten the clamp only to the torque the frame maker specifies.
