Rohloff Paper gasket for hub-cap, 32-hole 8238
The Rohloff Paper Gasket for Hub-Cap (32-hole, 8238) seals the hub-cap of a SPEEDHUB 500/14 with a 32-hole hub shell – the part Rohloff's service instructions replace whenever the hub-cap is refitted.
Why this gasket?
Replaced at every refit. Rohloff's service instructions call for a new paper hub-cap gasket and new hub-cap screws when the hub shell is put back together.
Tight seal. A fresh gasket between the hub-cap and the hub shell keeps the oil inside the hub.
Genuine Rohloff part. Rohloff includes the same gasket in its gear unit revision kits.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need the 32-hole or the 36-hole gasket?
It follows the hole count of the hub: the 32-hole gasket (8238) is for hubs with a 32-hole hub shell. The 32-hole is Rohloff 8238, the 36-hole 68238.
Can I reuse the old gasket?
No. Rohloff's service instructions refit the hub-cap with a new paper gasket and new hub-cap screws.
Where is the gasket used?
Between the hub-cap and the hub shell of the SPEEDHUB 500/14. It is not the axle ring gasket kit (8714).
