Tektro Flat Mount Brake Adapter – Rear 160 mm
The Tektro Flat Mount Brake Adapter – Rear 160 mm (FM1.1 R160) lets you run a 160 mm rear rotor with a flat-mount caliper on a flat-mount frame – more braking leverage than 140 mm, without changing the frame.

Upgrading the rear brake from a 140 mm to a 160 mm rotor on a flat-mount frame, replacing a lost or damaged rear 160 mm adapter, or building a flat-mount rear brake with a 160 mm rotor from separate parts.

The rear adapter lifts the caliper so that the pads meet a 160 mm rotor.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need different bolts with the Tektro FM1.1 R160 adapter?
Yes. The caliper bolts pass through the frame mount and the adapter, so they must be longer than for a caliper mounted directly on the frame. Measure the frame mount and choose the length from the frame or brake maker's bolt chart.
Can I use it with a 140 mm rotor?
No. For a 140 mm rear rotor, the flat-mount caliper is usually fitted directly to the frame without this adapter.
Will my brake need adjusting afterwards?
Yes. After fitting the adapter and new rotor, centre the caliper over the rotor and check the pad clearance.
