Sapim Polyax Double Square Alu Nipple 14G 16 mm – Black
The Sapim Polyax Double Square nipple is a 16 mm, 14G spoke nipple made of 7075-T6 aluminium, anodised black. Its square drive is tightened from inside the rim, which makes it the right nipple for deep-section and carbon rims where the classic nipple flats are hidden.
Why the Double Square?
Tightened from inside the rim. On deep and carbon rims the nipple flats sit inside the rim. The Double Square is tightened with a square-drive tool through the rim bed, so the wheel can still be built and trued. 
Undamaged tightening surfaces. The tool works on the square drive, so the tightening surfaces stay intact. 
7075-T6 aluminium. Much lighter than brass – and the weight saving is at the rim, where it matters most. 
Polyax head. Self-aligning with the spoke angle, so the spoke is not bent at the thread. 
16 mm length, 14G thread. Reaches through deeper rim profiles and fits Sapim CX-Ray, Sprint and other 14G spokes.

Frequently asked questions
Which tool do I need for Double Square nipples?
A square-drive nipple tool that reaches the nipple from the tyre side of the rim (for example the Sapim nipple driver). Remove the tyre, rim tape and valve first.
Aluminium or brass nipples?
Aluminium saves weight and is the usual choice for performance and carbon wheels. For everyday wheels ridden on salted winter roads, brass nipples are the more robust choice.
Does it fit my rim?
It fits rims drilled for standard 14G nipples. The 16 mm length is designed to reach through deeper rim profiles.
How many do I need?
One nipple per spoke – for example 32 for a 32-hole wheel. Order a few extra as spares.
