Rohloff A12 axle bolts and Nord-lock® washers – 2x bolts/4x washers
The Rohloff A12 axle bolts and Nord-Lock® washers set (8569) holds a 12 mm thru-axle Speedhub 500/14 in the frame: two silver M7x30 bolts and four Nord-Lock® washers for the standard 142, 177 and 197 mm A12 set-ups.

Why this bolt set?
Wedge-locking washers. Nord-Lock® washer pairs (wedge faces towards each other) keep the axle bolts from working loose under drive torque.
Complete for both sides. One silver M7x30 bolt each for the left and the right dropout, with two washer pairs.
Clear assembly rule. 5 mm Allen key, tightened in quarter-turn steps to 15–20 Nm, as Rohloff specifies.
Fresh washers on schedule. Rohloff recommends replacing Nord-Lock washers after every fourth use – this set gives you new bolts and washers in one go.

Where it sits
The bolts pass through the reduction sleeves in each dropout and thread into the A12 hub axle from both sides. The washers sit under the bolt heads.
Who is it for?
- Owners of 142 mm A12 Speedhubs. The standard bolt set for non-Boost thru-axle frames.
- Riders who remove the wheel often. Travel and touring bikes whose washers have reached their re-use limit.
- Frame changers. Moving an A12 hub to a new frame is a good moment to fit fresh hardware.

Frequently asked questions
Does this set fit a 148 mm Boost frame?
Not completely: Boost needs a longer black M7x36 bolt on the sprocket side. Rohloff offers the 8569B set for that, or you can add the single black bolt 8568.
Which way do the Nord-Lock washers go?
In pairs, with the wedge faces towards each other.
How often should I replace the washers?
Rohloff recommends new Nord-Lock washers after every fourth use.
About Rohloff
Rohloff AG is a German manufacturer from the Kassel area, best known for the Speedhub 500/14 – a sealed 14-speed gear hub with evenly spaced gears. Rohloff sells every spare part as an individual item, so a Speedhub can be serviced and adapted to a new frame instead of being replaced.
BoodaBike (Massive Bikes, Budapest) is an official Rohloff service centre, trained by Rohloff, and an official European distributor of Rohloff hubs and parts. We build Speedhub bikes with Gates belt drive ourselves – if you are unsure which part fits your hub or frame, ask us before ordering.
