Rohloff Concertina tubes – 2 units incl. ties, 4 units
The Rohloff Concertina tubes (Art. 8702) are the two flexible protective sleeves over the hub cables of a SPEEDHUB 500/14 with internal gear mech, supplied with the four cable ties that secure them.
Why new concertina tubes?
Keeps dirt out. The bellows cover the hub cables between hub and bayonet connectors, where road spray and grit hit hardest.
Flexible. They follow the cable movement while shifting.
Complete set. Two tubes and four cable ties – exactly what one hub needs.
Part of every hub cable change. The Rohloff manual fits new concertina tubes whenever the hub cables are replaced.

- Owners of internal gear mech SPEEDHUBs. Older rim-brake SPEEDHUBs with hub cables and bayonet connectors.

How are they secured?
With cable ties over the recesses of the cable guides and over the ends of the male bayonet connectors.
Do disc brake SPEEDHUBs need them?
No. Disc brake versions use the external gear mech without hub cables.
Can I fit them without removing the hub cables?
In the Rohloff procedure the tubes are slid over the hub cables before the bayonet connectors are fitted.
