Rohloff E-14 Switch Unit
The Rohloff E-14 Switch Unit (8801) is the compact two-button handlebar control for the electronic Rohloff E-14 shifting on the SPEEDHUB 500/14 – a genuine replacement or an alternative to the E-14 Trigger.

Why the E-14 Switch Unit?
Two clear buttons. One button for higher gears, one for lower gears – easy to find with a glove on.
Single shift or multishift. A short press shifts one gear; holding the button shifts on in steps of three gears.
Rohloff factory option. Rohloff supplies every E-14 SPEEDHUB with either the E-14 Trigger (8801-04) or this switch unit (8801).
Genuine replacement. Swap a damaged handlebar control without touching the rest of the E-14 system.
Who is it for?
- E-14 riders who prefer buttons. A simple thumb-operated control instead of the trigger paddle.
- Owners with a damaged control. After a fall, a cracked switch unit is a quick replacement.
- Comfort-oriented riders. Calm, intuitive shifting for touring and everyday e-bikes.

Frequently asked questions
Switch unit or trigger – which one should I choose?
Both control the same E-14 system. The switch unit has two thumb buttons; the trigger lets you shift up with the thumb or by pulling with the index finger. It is a question of ergonomics and of what fits your cockpit.
Does it work with my E-14 generation?
The switch unit is part of Rohloff’s E-14 range, but connectors and software differ between E-14 versions. Send us the model of your e-bike or a photo of your current control and we will confirm the fit.
Can I change the shift direction?
With the E-14 2.0 and the Bosch Smart System, the Rohloff E-14 2.0 App lets you invert the buttons. E-14 1.0 systems are set up via the e-bike display.
