Rohloff Gear 1 for shifting box
Rohloff Gear 1 for the shifting box (SG01) is the small shift gear that sits on the hexagon of the SPEEDHUB 500/14 shift shaft and meshes with the gears of the gear mech – a genuine spare that is easy to lose during gear mech service.

Why keep a spare gear 1?
Small part, big job. Without gear 1 the gear mech cannot pass any shift to the hub.
Genuine Rohloff part. Made to the exact tooth form of the gear mech housing gears.
Easy to lose. It is pulled off the shift shaft with tweezers when the gear mech is removed – a spare saves the job if it drops.
Also part of the transfer box. Rohloff includes gear 1 with the EX transfer box (8216); this is the single part.
Who is it for?
- Home mechanics doing gear mech service. Have a spare ready before you start.
- Workshops. A standard drawer part for SPEEDHUB service.

Do I need it if I buy a new transfer box?
No, Rohloff includes gear 1 with the EX transfer box (8216).
