Rohloff Hub cable Easy Set – from Serial no. 25300
The Rohloff Hub Cable Easy Set (8573) is a fully pre-assembled pair of shift cables with bayonets and bellows for SPEEDHUB 500/14 hubs with internal gear mech and the quick-change axle ring (from serial no. 25300) – the fastest way to replace worn or broken hub cables.
Why the Easy Set?
Pre-assembled. Cables, bayonets and bellows come ready to fit into the axle ring – no cutting to length. 
Quick-change axle ring. On hubs from serial 25300 the axle ring stays on the axle during a cable change. 
Fresh, precise shifting. Rohloff gives the 0.9 mm special shift cable a life of about 8,000–10,000 km when correctly installed. 
For the road. A compact spare to carry on long tours with an internal-gear-mech hub.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my hub has the quick-change axle ring?
Count the axle plate screws: 5 screws = quick-change axle ring (use this Easy Set). 6 screws = older one-piece axle ring (use the hub cable set 8271).
My cable broke well before 8,000 km – why?
Rohloff names three common causes: a wrongly positioned axle plate or cable stop making the cable run at a kink, a loose torque support letting the axle turn, or mechanical damage such as a fall.
Can I fit it myself?
Yes, with care: the wheel comes out, the bellows and bayonets are removed and the axle plate is taken off. Note the axle plate position before you remove it.
