Rohloff Monkey Bone -10 for 160 mm rotors – IS to PM adapter
The Rohloff Monkey Bone -10 for 160 mm rotors (8553-10) is the IS-to-post-mount brake adapter and torque support for XXL SPEEDHUBs in fat bike frames (CC 190 mm / A12 197 mm) with an IS2000 brake mount.

Why the Monkey Bone -10?
Brake adapter and torque support. The OEM2 axle plate locks into a recess in the Monkey Bone, so the hub torque goes straight into the frame through the brake mount.
Offset for XXL hubs. The -10 version is shaped for the wider 190/197 mm fat bike hubs.
Long bolts included. Two M6x30 bolts for fat bike frames come in the box.
160 mm rotor. For a post-mount caliper with a 160 mm rotor on an IS2000 frame mount.

Mounting in short
Fix the Monkey Bone to the IS mount (6 Nm), fit the post-mount caliper loosely, install the wheel so the OEM2 axle plate sits fully in the Monkey Bone recess, then align and tighten the caliper (6 Nm).
Who is it for?
- Fat bike riders with an XXL SPEEDHUB. Frames with an IS2000 brake mount on the seatstay.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need the -10 or the normal Monkey Bone?
The -10 versions are for XXL hubs (CC 190 mm, A12 197 mm). For hubs from 135 to 177 mm, use the Monkey Bone 160 (8553).
Can I use it with a quick-release (CC) axle?
Yes, but the anchoring point must be behind a line parallel to the dropout slot through the axle. With the A12 thru axle this does not need to be checked.
I want a 180 mm rotor – which part?
The Monkey Bone -10 for 180 mm rotors (8554-10).
