Rohloff Paper gasket kit for axle-ring with axle-plate screws
The Rohloff Paper Gasket Kit with axle plate screws (8714) contains new axle ring gaskets and new axle plate screws for the SPEEDHUB 500/14 – everything Rohloff requires to be replaced when the gear mech comes off.
Why this kit?
Both single-use parts. Rohloff says neither the paper gaskets nor the axle plate screws may be reused. 
Correct screws. M4x25 countersunk screws, Torx TX20, tightened to 3 Nm. 
Tight seal. Fresh gaskets keep the oil inside the hub. 
Internal and external gear mech. Used whenever the gear mech is removed from the axle.

Gear mech conversion, transfer box replacement, hub cable change on an internal gear mech, or any job where the axle plate comes off.

Frequently asked questions
How many axle plate screws does my hub use?
Current hubs use 5 axle plate screws; early hubs with a one-piece axle ring (up to serial 25300) use 6.
How should the screws be tightened?
Crosswise, with a Torx TX20 T-handle key, to 3 Nm.
Do I need this kit with a new transfer box?
No – Rohloff includes 8714 with the EX transfer box (8216).
