The Rohloff Set of hub/shifter cable measuring aids (8713) contains two brass tubes, 165 mm and 200 mm, for cutting Speedhub cables to exactly the right length.
Why the measuring aids?
Correct length every time. Slide the tube over the inner cable up to the housing and cut the cable at the end of the tube.
Two lengths in one set. 165 mm for the hub cables (internal gear mech), 200 mm for the shifter cables (external gear mech).
