Rohloff SPEEDBONE
The Rohloff SPEEDBONE (8550) anchors the OEM2 axle plate of a SPEEDHUB 500/14 on frames with an IS2000 disc brake mount – a neat torque support without a long torque arm.
Why the SPEEDBONE?
Uses the IS brake mount. The SPEEDBONE mounts on the outer side of the frame through the IS2000 disc brake mount, together with the brake caliper. 
For OEM2 axle plates. The seat of the OEM2 axle plate hooks onto the SPEEDBONE, which takes up the hub torque. 
Longer bolts needed. Use the long SPEEDBONE securing bolts – the original caliper bolts are too short. Tighten to the brake manufacturer’s torque. 
Tidy dropout area. No long arm along the chainstay – a clean look on touring and trekking frames.
How it works
The SPEEDBONE sits between the IS brake mount and the caliper. The OEM2 axle plate rests against it and transfers the reaction torque of the hub into the frame.
Alternatives for OEM2: the M6 support bolt 8560 through the brake mount, or the MonkeyBone for Postmount calipers.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my existing caliper bolts?
No. The original caliper bolts are too short with the SPEEDBONE in between – use the long SPEEDBONE securing bolts.
My frame has a Postmount brake mount. Does the SPEEDBONE fit?
No. For Postmount frames Rohloff uses the PM axle plate with the PM Bone (8555).
Is there a simpler alternative?
On IS frames the OEM2 axle plate can also be anchored with the M6 support bolt 8560. Ask us which suits your frame.
