Schwalbe Marathon Efficiency 622×35
The Schwalbe Marathon Efficiency 622×35 (Marathon PRO Efficiency, 700x35C, Evo, Super Race, V-Guard, ADDIX Race) is Schwalbe's fastest touring tire: a light yet sturdy all-rounder for trekking bikes and e-bikes, fast on tours and reliable every day.

Why the Marathon Efficiency?
Low rolling resistance. Tread, carcass construction and compound come together to reduce rolling resistance – you get there faster.
More e-bike range. Less rolling resistance means your battery lasts longer; the tire carries Schwalbe's E-50 rating.
V-Guard. A light, cut-resistant layer under the tread for very good puncture protection for a tire this fast.
ADDIX Race. Grip and speed from Schwalbe's race compound.
Reflective sidewall. Makes you more visible at night.

Speed without giving up reliability
Touring, trekking, daily commuting and e-bike rides on asphalt and firm dirt tracks. Less rolling resistance means you get there faster – and on an e-bike, your battery lasts longer.

Tube or tubeless
The Marathon Efficiency is Tubeless Ready, but it also works perfectly with an inner tube. Our recommendation: a lightweight TPU inner tube – fast, light and no sealant to maintain.

Where it fits in the Schwalbe range
The Marathon Efficiency is most at home on asphalt and firm dirt tracks. If you often ride on loose gravel, the G-One Allround is the better choice.
From left to right the scale runs from smooth asphalt through touring roads and firm tracks, fast gravel and mixed gravel to rough, loose ground; the wheel marks where the Marathon Efficiency is most at home.
Who is it for?
- Touring and trekking riders. Speed without giving up reliability on long tours.
- E-bike riders. More range from every battery charge, approved up to 50 km/h.
- Daily commuters. Few flats and better visibility in the dark – reliability that matters when the bike is your transport.

Frequently asked questions
Is it suitable for e-bikes?
Yes. It carries Schwalbe's E-50 rating, so it is approved for e-bikes up to 50 km/h, and its low rolling resistance helps your battery range.
How puncture-resistant is it?
The V-Guard layer under the tread is light and cut-resistant – very good puncture protection for a tire this fast.
Can I ride it on gravel?
It handles firm dirt tracks well. For regular loose gravel, a G-One tire gives more grip.
What pressure should I ride?
Schwalbe specifies 4.5 to 6.5 bar (max. 95 psi) for this size. Use the higher end with luggage or on an e-bike.
About Schwalbe
Schwalbe is the tire brand of Ralf Bohle GmbH, a family-owned German company from Reichshof, in the tire business since 1922. Since 1973 Schwalbe has developed and built its tires together with its long-term production partner Hung-A in Indonesia and Vietnam, and today Schwalbe tires are ridden in around 70 countries.
Almost all Schwalbe tires are made with fairly traded natural rubber (Fair Rubber), and Schwalbe runs its own tire recycling – the recycled carbon black in the ADDIX Green compound saves around 80% CO₂eq compared with conventional industrial carbon black.
