Shimano SM-BH59 Olive + Connector Insert + Connecting Bolt
The Shimano SM-BH59 connection set (Y8H598010) contains an olive, a connector insert and a connecting bolt for Shimano's SM-BH59 hydraulic hose, used on many trekking and city brakes. When the hose is shortened or replaced, the olive and insert must be new.

Why this set?
Complete connection. Olive, insert and connecting bolt together – everything for one hose end.
Replaces a damaged bolt. Also the fix when the connecting bolt itself is damaged.
For BH59 hoses. Made for the SM-BH59 hose family.
Genuine Shimano. For a leak-free, lasting seal.

How the connection works
1 – connecting bolt, screws into the brake lever; 2 – olive, compresses onto the hose and seals it; 3 – connector insert, pushed into the hose end; 4 – hydraulic hose.
The olive and the insert are single-use: fit new ones every time the hose is shortened.
Who is it for?
- Owners of BH59-hose brakes. Common on trekking and city bikes.
- Workshops. Servicing trekking and city bikes.

About Shimano
Shimano was founded in 1921 in Sakai, Japan, as a one-man workshop making freewheels. Today it is the world's largest maker of bicycle components, and its standards – Center Lock rotors, Hollowtech cranks, Rapidfire shifters, mineral-oil hydraulic brakes – are what most bikes are built around.
At BoodaBike we use Shimano internal gear hubs and hydraulic brakes on our own belt-drive bikes, and we stock the service parts we use in our own workshop.
