Frequently asked questions
Can I use this housing for brake cables?
No. LEX is shift housing with lengthwise steel strands. Brake cables need spiral-wound brake housing, which is built to take braking forces safely.
What is the difference between LEX and LEX-SL?
Both are 4 mm Jagwire shift housings with linear steel strands. LEX has a non-lubricated inner liner, while LEX-SL has Jagwire's Slick-Lube liner for a lower-friction cable run.
How do I cut it to length?
Use a proper cable and housing cutter, cut cleanly through the strands, and open the inner liner at the cut end so the inner cable runs freely. Then fit a 4 mm end cap on each end.
Are end caps included?
This listing is the housing only, 1 m per piece. If you also need 4 mm end caps or a new inner cable, ask us and we will help you put the set together.
