Astro

Single-speed commuter bike

The Booda Bike Astro is a low-maintenance, single-speed, belt-driven commuter bike: with one gear there is no derailleur or shifter to adjust, and the Gates CDX carbon belt needs no lubrication. It combines a steel frame, a carbon fork, a drop handlebar, hydraulic disc brakes and 28 mm Schwalbe Pro-One tubeless tires for fast, agile riding on asphalt, in sizes S, M and L.

Designed for performance

A single-speed, belt-driven bike for those who love fast-paced cycling and want an agile ride. Thanks to the road wheels, its performance is best used on asphalt. The frame geometry and the components are matched with a focus on performance. The Gates CDX carbon drive system provides efficient, low-maintenance riding. The steel frame is flexible enough to absorb uncomfortable vibrations, yet stiff enough not to degrade the riding experience.

  • Steel frame. The frame is the most important element of the bike, so it receives special attention in the design. Thanks to the material properties of steel, it pleasantly dampens vibrations, yet gives enough rigidity to make cornering a real experience.
  • Single speed. One gear and no shifting: the bike is equipped with the Possible SpinnerOne straight-pull 24-hole wheelset, designed specifically for belt-driven bikes. The lightweight rear hub produces a distinctive, satisfying buzz.
  • About 9 kg. The bike weighs approximately 9 kilograms without accessories, which is low for a steel-framed, single-speed bike of this type. This is thanks to the high-quality steel frame and the carbon fork. Low weight contributes to a comfortable and enjoyable ride.
  • Hydraulic disc brakes. The hydraulic disc brake system is one of the lowest-maintenance braking solutions. It offers high efficiency at an affordable price and can be upgraded to a higher-end braking system if desired.
  • Gates Carbon Drive system. The Gates Carbon Drive belt system is clean, quiet and virtually maintenance-free. It requires no lubrication, does not rust and lasts significantly longer than a traditional chain. A premium choice for smooth, reliable riding.
  • Internal cable routing. Every detail of the bike was carefully designed to keep it clean and good-looking, which is why internal cable routing is standard.

Power-tuned riding position

The frame geometry of the single-speed bikes is tuned for performance, so you can get through the city’s obstacles as agilely as possible.

Hydraulic disc brakes

Equipped with hydraulic disc brakes for reliable safety. Whether it's emergency braking or descending a slope, you can count on maximum stopping power. We really like TRP brakes: they are highly effective and extremely reliable.

High puncture resistance, tubeless sealant

Tubeless tires come with Effetto Mariposa Végétalex sealant, which immediately seals smaller punctures from inside the tire (Schwalbe Pro-One 622x28 tires).

Who is the Booda Bike Astro for?

  • City commuters. One gear, a belt that needs no lubrication and hydraulic disc brakes keep maintenance low for daily rides.
  • Riders who like fast, agile riding. Performance-tuned geometry, road wheels with 28 mm tires and a drop handlebar.
  • Anyone who prefers simplicity. No gears to adjust and no chain to oil.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Booda Bike Astro a low-maintenance bike?

Yes, it is built for low maintenance. It has a single gear, so there is no derailleur, shifter or gear cable to adjust, and the Gates CDX carbon belt needs no lubrication and does not rust. The Astro also has hydraulic disc brakes, tubeless tires with sealant and standard components that any general bike shop can service. Wear items such as brake pads, tires and the belt still need regular checks, as on any bike.

What makes the Booda Bike Astro durable?

Its main components are chosen for a long service life: a steel frame that absorbs vibrations, a carbon fork, a Gates CDX carbon belt that does not rust and lasts significantly longer than a traditional chain, TRP Hylex hydraulic disc brakes, and a Possible SpinnerOne straight-pull wheelset designed for belt-driven bikes. The Schwalbe Pro-One tires run tubeless with sealant to close small punctures.

What drivetrain does the Booda Bike Astro use?

The Astro has a single-speed Gates CDX carbon belt drive: a 55T front sprocket and a 20T rear sprocket (a ratio of 2.75:1) with a 113T belt, on an FSA Direct Mount crankset. The belt is clean, quiet, needs no lubrication and does not rust.

Is the Booda Bike Astro a good commuter bike?

Yes, it is designed as a fast, agile commuter bike for asphalt: road wheels with 28 mm tires, a frame geometry tuned for performance, about 9 kg without accessories, and sizes S, M and L. With a single gear it suits riders who prefer simplicity; if you want a wide gear range, look at our hub-geared models such as the Booda Bike Pulse with a Rohloff Speedhub.

Does the Booda Bike Astro have a drop handlebar?

Yes. The Astro has a drop (road) handlebar, a Possible aluminium Road 31.8, together with a Possible 90 mm stem.

How can I pay?

What tools do I need to assemble my Booda Bike?

This depends on the model and configuration, but most maintenance and assembly can be done with these tools: 4 mm Allen key, 5 mm Allen key, 6 mm Allen key, and a T25 Torx key.

Do the prices include VAT?

Once you select your country, all prices will be shown with the applicable local VAT included.

Can I try the bike in person before buying?

Currently, we operate as an online-only store, but we’re working on making test rides possible in the near future.

What happens after I place my order?

Once we receive your order, we begin processing it. If all parts are in stock, our team will prepare the components in the order in which the orders were received. If something is out of stock, we’ll check the expected arrival or order it immediately. After that, your bike enters the assembly phase, which usually takes 1–2 business days. Once the bike is built, it undergoes a thorough quality check to ensure everything is assembled correctly. Then it gets packed and shipped straight to your door.

How can I order spare parts?

If you bought your bike through our website, just go to the “My Bicycle” tab in your profile — there you’ll find all components specific to your bike, so you’ll know exactly what you need and can easily reorder.

What if I want a customization that’s not available on the website?

The customization options on our website are based on what we've learned actually make sense over the years. There are very few modifications we are both able and willing to make that aren’t listed online — but feel free to email us at info@boodabike.com and we’ll be happy to discuss it.
