  • Steel frameSteel frame Steel naturally helps absorb road vibration while providing the stiffness needed for precise, predictable handling. It gives the Hiker a smooth and comfortable ride without taking away from its responsive character.
  • Alfine 8/11 gear hubAlfine 8/11 gear hub The Shimano Alfine 8 and 11 internal gear hubs offer smooth, low-maintenance shifting with sealed designs that use grease (Alfine 8) or oil-bath lubrication (Alfine 11) for optimal durability. The Alfine 8 provides a 307% gear range, while the Alfine 11 offers a wider 409% range, making it ideal for varied terrain and urban commuting alike.
  • Weight: approximately 11.5 kg~11.5 kg The bike weighs approximately 11.5 kg without accessories, which is outstanding for a steel-framed, hub-geared bike of this type. This is thanks to the high-quality steel frame and the carbon fork. The low weight is key to a comfortable and enjoyable ride.
  • Mechanical disc brakesMechanical disc brakes The Alfine hub and drop-bar setup requires the microSHIFT integrated brake and shift levers, which is why the Hiker uses mechanical disc brakes. With 160 mm rotors front and rear, the system provides reliable and predictable braking performance in everyday and gravel riding.
  • Gates Carbon Drive belt systemGates Carbon Drive system The Gates Carbon Drive belt system is clean, quiet and virtually maintenance-free. It does not require lubrication, does not rust and lasts significantly longer than a traditional chain. A premium choice for smooth, reliable riding.
  • Internal cable routingInternal cable routing Clean design often comes down to the details you barely notice. Routing the cables internally keeps the Hiker visually simple while protecting the cables and maintaining the clean lines of the frame.

Gates CDX Carbon belt drive

The Gates CDX system is designed for demanding, high-mileage use. It stays clean, requires no lubrication and offers excellent durability with very little maintenance.

High puncture resistance, tubeless sealant

We set up the Hiker tubeless by default. Sealant can automatically close many small punctures while allowing you to run lower tire pressures for improved comfort and grip on rough surfaces. TPU inner tubes are also available as an alternative.

Carbon rim

Carbon rim upgrade

Carbon rims make a lot more sense when the goal isn’t simply to “make it carbon.” Reducing rotational weight can make the bike feel lighter, sharper and more responsive. Our aluminium rims already offer excellent performance and value, while the carbon option is there for riders who want to take the ride feel one step further.

Who is the Booda Bike Hiker for?

The Hiker is for riders who do not want to choose between gravel and paved roads: it suits commuting, everyday rides and longer adventures alike. Its internal gear hub and belt drive keep upkeep low, and like all Booda Bike models it is built from standard components, so any general bike shop can service it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Booda Bike Hiker?

The Booda Bike Hiker is a belt-driven gravel bike with a steel frame, a carbon fork, a Shimano Alfine 8 or 11 internal gear hub and a Gates CDX Carbon belt drive. It is built for gravel, commuting and everything in between, and comes with Schwalbe G-One Allround 622x40 tubeless tires.

Is the Booda Bike Hiker a low-maintenance bike?

Yes. The gears are sealed inside the Shimano Alfine hub, so there is no derailleur to adjust; the Gates Carbon Drive belt does not require lubrication and does not rust; and the tubeless tires are set up with sealant that can automatically close many small punctures. All Booda Bike models use standard components, so any general bike shop can service the Hiker.

Which gear hub does the Hiker use and why?

The Hiker uses a Shimano Alfine internal gear hub: the Alfine 8 (8 speeds, 307% gear range, grease-lubricated) or the Alfine 11 (11 speeds, 409% gear range, oil-bath lubricated). Both are sealed designs with smooth, low-maintenance shifting. The Alfine 8 suits everyday riding, commuting and moderately hilly terrain; the Alfine 11 is better suited to longer rides, steeper climbs and more varied terrain.

What makes the Booda Bike Hiker durable?

The Hiker has a steel frame that absorbs road vibration while staying stiff, a carbon fork, a sealed internal gear hub and a Gates CDX Carbon belt drive that is designed for demanding, high-mileage use and lasts significantly longer than a traditional chain. The tubeless tires are set up with sealant against punctures, and the standard components are easy to replace.

Is the Hiker a belt drive gravel bike?

Yes. The Hiker uses a Gates CDX Carbon belt drive instead of a chain. The belt is clean, quiet and virtually maintenance-free; it does not require lubrication and does not rust.

Why does the Hiker have mechanical disc brakes?

The Alfine hub and drop-bar setup requires the microSHIFT integrated brake and shift levers, which work with mechanical disc brakes. The Hiker has 160 mm rotors front and rear.

Which Hiker frame size should I choose?

Frame size S suits riders from 155 to 170 cm, size M from 170 to 185 cm and size L from 185 to 200 cm. The stack and reach of each size are listed in the size guide above.

How can I pay?

You can pay via bank transfer or credit card.

Is there any financing option available?

Not yet, but we’re working on it! :)

What if I don’t like my bike?

If the bike isn’t what you expected, you can return it within 14 days. Please make sure to pack it carefully so it arrives back to us in good condition. You can find the return conditions in our Terms and Conditions.

How can I service my bike?

All our bikes are made using standard components, so they’re easy to maintain. This is a core principle across all our models. Thanks to this, any general bike shop should be able to service your Booda Bike.

What tools do I need to assemble my Booda Bike?

This depends on the model and configuration, but most maintenance and assembly can be done with these tools: 4 mm Allen key, 5 mm Allen key, 6 mm Allen key, and a T25 Torx key.

Do the prices include VAT?

Once you select your country, all prices will be shown with the applicable local VAT included.

Can I try the bike in person before buying?

Currently, we operate as an online-only store, but we’re working on making test rides possible in the near future.

What happens after I place my order?

Once we receive your order, we begin processing it. If all parts are in stock, our team will prepare the components in the order in which the orders were received. If something is out of stock, we’ll check the expected arrival or order it immediately. After that, your bike enters the assembly phase, which usually takes 1–2 business days. Once the bike is built, it undergoes a thorough quality check to ensure everything is assembled correctly. Then it gets packed and shipped straight to your door.

How can I order spare parts?

If you bought your bike through our website, just go to the “My Bicycle” tab in your profile — there you’ll find all components specific to your bike, so you’ll know exactly what you need and can easily reorder.

What if I want a customization that’s not available on the website?

The customization options on our website are based on what we’ve learned actually makes sense over the years. There are very few modifications we are both able and willing to make that aren’t listed online — but feel free to email us at info@boodabike.com and we’ll be happy to discuss it.
