The Gates Carbon Drive CDX Rear Sprocket – SureFit 3-lobe, Shimano Alfine/Nexus is the strongest-line rear sprocket for belt-driven bikes with a Shimano Alfine or Nexus internal gear hub (Unified, 45.5 mm beltline). It is available in 22, 24, 26 and 28 teeth, 11 mm pitch.
Why choose this rear sprocket?
SureFit installation. A flexible finger design with a slight interference fit gives a secure fit on the internal gear hub.
Alfine and Nexus. Made for Shimano Alfine and Nexus hubs (Unified, 45.5 mm beltline).
Several gear choices. Available in several tooth counts – see the table below.
CenterTrack, 11 mm pitch. Runs with CDX, CDC and CDN belts.

What is SureFit?
SureFit sprockets have a flexible finger design and a slight interference fit, which gives the best installation on internally geared hubs. Make sure the sprocket and its snap ring are fully seated and click into place. The Gates SureFit installation tool is not required, but makes fitting easier and quicker.

CDX: what that means
This sprocket belongs to the Gates CDX line: the strongest Gates line, rated at up to 4× the life of a chain and for hub motors and mid-drive e-bike motors up to 120 Nm. You can combine it with a CDX belt for the complete CDX setup; CDX, CDC and CDN are all CenterTrack parts with an 11 mm pitch, so the lines fit together and each part keeps its own rating.

Frequently asked questions
Which tooth count should I choose?
It depends on your gearing and the front sprocket, and the belt length follows from both. Gates offers a free Gearing and Center Distance Calculator in its Gates Sanity Check. Send us your frame, crank and hub and we will help you choose.
Which hubs does the SureFit sprocket fit?
Gates lists it for Shimano Nexus 7, Nexus 8 and Alfine hubs with the Unified, 45.5 mm beltline. Other hubs, for example Alfine Di2 or Nexus 5, need other sprockets – tell us your hub and we will pick the right one.
What do CDX, CDC and CDN mean?
They are Gates’ three belt-drive lines for bicycles: CDX (top of the range), CDC (mid-range) and CDN (entry level). Gates rates CDX for hub motors and mid-drive e-bike motors up to 120 Nm, CDC for mid-drive motors up to 75 Nm, and CDN for hub-motor e-bikes and casual riding.
When should I replace a sprocket?
Check your sprockets from time to time. Worn teeth cause noise, tooth jump and faster wear on the belt, so replace the sprocket when the teeth are worn. A sprocket in good condition has even, undamaged teeth.
Sizes and Gates part numbers
Find your sprocket by its tooth count. The Gates article number and type designation are marked on the sprocket, so you can match a replacement exactly.
