The Gates Carbon Drive CDX Rear Sprocket – thread-on, fixie is the thread-on rear sprocket of the strongest Gates line, in wear-resistant aerospace stainless steel, for belt-driven fixed-gear and single-speed bikes. It is available in 19, 20, 21 and 22 teeth, 11 mm pitch.
Why choose this rear sprocket?
Stainless steel. Wear-resistant aerospace stainless steel from the strongest Gates line.
Thread-on fit. Screws onto the thread of a fixed-gear or single-speed hub.
Fixie and single-speed. The belt-drive answer for a clean, quiet fixed or single-speed bike.
CenterTrack, 11 mm pitch. Runs with CDX, CDC and CDN belts.

Which hub does it fit?
This sprocket screws onto the thread of a hub made for it, as on fixed-gear and single-speed bikes. Check that the thread on your hub matches, and tell us the hub model if you want us to confirm it.

CDX: what that means
This sprocket belongs to the Gates CDX line: the strongest Gates line, rated at up to 4× the life of a chain and for hub motors and mid-drive e-bike motors up to 120 Nm. You can combine it with a CDX belt for the complete CDX setup; CDX, CDC and CDN are all CenterTrack parts with an 11 mm pitch, so the lines fit together and each part keeps its own rating.

Frequently asked questions
Which tooth count should I choose?
It depends on your gearing and the front sprocket, and the belt length follows from both. Gates offers a free Gearing and Center Distance Calculator in its Gates Sanity Check. Send us your frame, crank and hub and we will help you choose.
Do I need a sprocket wrench?
Gates recommends its own sprocket wrench for sprockets: typical oil-filter strap wrenches are not recommended. Ask us about the Gates tools.
What do CDX, CDC and CDN mean?
They are Gates’ three belt-drive lines for bicycles: CDX (top of the range), CDC (mid-range) and CDN (entry level). Gates rates CDX for hub motors and mid-drive e-bike motors up to 120 Nm, CDC for mid-drive motors up to 75 Nm, and CDN for hub-motor e-bikes and casual riding.
When should I replace a sprocket?
Check your sprockets from time to time. Worn teeth cause noise, tooth jump and faster wear on the belt, so replace the sprocket when the teeth are worn. A sprocket in good condition has even, undamaged teeth.
Sizes and Gates part numbers
Find your sprocket by its tooth count. The Gates article number and type designation are marked on the sprocket, so you can match a replacement exactly.
