The Hexlox Quick Release Axle – Rear, Black replaces your rear quick-release skewer with an axle only you can open: no lever, a conical gripless head and a 5 mm Hexlox insert keep the rear wheel on a parked bike.

Why the Hexlox QR axle?

  • Locked by a 5 mm insert. Only the Hexlox Key with your code removes the insert.

Why quick release is a risk

A quick-release lever is made to remove a wheel in seconds – and that works for thieves as well as for you. The Hexlox axle keeps the wheel easy to remove for you, without the open door.

What you need: the QR axle, a Hexlox 5 mm insert and the Hexlox Key.

Which bikes does the Hexlox rear QR axle fit?

Rear wheels with a quick-release system – road, fixed-gear, MTB, e-bike and cargo bikes. Fat bikes need Hexlox's separate XL axle.

How do I remove the wheel?

Take out the insert with your Hexlox Key, then loosen the axle with a normal 5 mm Allen key.

Does my front wheel need one too?

Yes, if it also has a quick release – this product is for the rear wheel only.

Is the insert included?

No. The axle works with a 5 mm Hexlox insert and the Hexlox Key, both sold separately.

No lock in the world is 100% secure. Hexlox stops the quick, opportunistic theft of parts – for the frame itself, always use a good frame lock and a fixed anchor point, as Hexlox recommends too.
