Hexlox Quick Release Axle – Rear, Black
The Hexlox Quick Release Axle – Rear, Black replaces your rear quick-release skewer with an axle only you can open: no lever, a conical gripless head and a 5 mm Hexlox insert keep the rear wheel on a parked bike.

Why the Hexlox QR axle?
Gripless conical head. No lever and no flat faces – pliers and spanners slip off.
Locked by a 5 mm insert. Only the Hexlox Key with your code removes the insert.
Anti-spin tooth. Stops the axle from turning in the dropout.
Weather protection cap. Covers the insert on the bike.
Two lengths in the box. Road 160 mm and MTB 170 mm – no measuring needed.

Why quick release is a risk
A quick-release lever is made to remove a wheel in seconds – and that works for thieves as well as for you. The Hexlox axle keeps the wheel easy to remove for you, without the open door.
What you need: the QR axle, a Hexlox 5 mm insert and the Hexlox Key.
Who is it for?
- Riders with quick-release rear wheels. Road, fixed-gear, MTB, e-bike and cargo bikes.
- City commuters. Who park outside for hours and do not want to carry the wheel inside.
- Owners of an expensive rear wheel. Where a replacement would cost far more than the axle.

Frequently asked questions
Which bikes does the Hexlox rear QR axle fit?
Rear wheels with a quick-release system – road, fixed-gear, MTB, e-bike and cargo bikes. Fat bikes need Hexlox's separate XL axle.
How do I remove the wheel?
Take out the insert with your Hexlox Key, then loosen the axle with a normal 5 mm Allen key.
Does my front wheel need one too?
Yes, if it also has a quick release – this product is for the rear wheel only.
Is the insert included?
No. The axle works with a 5 mm Hexlox insert and the Hexlox Key, both sold separately.
No lock in the world is 100% secure. Hexlox stops the quick, opportunistic theft of parts – for the frame itself, always use a good frame lock and a fixed anchor point, as Hexlox recommends too. Hexlox was founded in Berlin in 2016 with one idea: bike bolts are already highly specialised, so instead of replacing them, build a lock that fits into the bolts you already have. Designed and made in Germany, Hexlox is sold through more than 500 bike shops in over 67 countries – worry less, ride more.About Hexlox
