TRP Hylex HD-C8110 Hydraulic Disc Brake Set – Front and Rear
The TRP Hylex HD-C8110 Front and Rear set is a complete pair of hydraulic flat-mount disc brakes for drop-bar bikes without shifters – a left-hand lever with front caliper and a right-hand lever with rear caliper, ready for single-speed, belt-drive and gear-hub builds.

Why the TRP Hylex set?
Integrated master cylinder. Built into the ergonomic lever body, for a clean drop-bar cockpit.
Adjustable reach on both levers. Fit the blades to your hands for confident braking on the hoods and in the drops.
Mineral oil. Both brakes run on TRP mineral oil.
Top-loading pads. Pad changes from the top of the caliper.
Flat-mount calipers in matte black. Modern mounting standard for road and gravel frames and forks.
5.0 mm hoses with EZ plug system. 1000 mm hose on the front brake, 1600 mm on the rear.

What it is for
This set equips a whole bike with TRP Hylex brakes in one order – the natural choice when you build up a new drop-bar frame or convert both wheels from mechanical to hydraulic disc brakes.
New builds on flat-mount gravel, touring or road frames; full upgrades of single-speed or belt-drive drop-bar bikes; gear-hub bikes where shifting is handled by a separate control; replacing an older, worn brake system on both wheels at once.

How each brake works
1 – lever with master cylinder, 2 – hose, 3 – caliper, 4 – rotor.
Both brakes in the set work the same way.
Who is it for?
- I'm building a belt-drive or single-speed drop-bar bike and want proper brakes. Two Hylex brakes give you hydraulic stopping power without paying for shift levers you don't need.
- I want the same feel on both levers. Front and rear are the same model, so lever feel and hood shape match on both sides.
- My hands get tired braking on long descents. A hydraulic system needs less hand force than cable brakes, which many experienced riders appreciate on long tours.
- I don't want to hunt for matching parts. One order covers both wheels with the correct front and rear calipers and the front adapter.

Frequently asked questions
Is the TRP Hylex set the same as buying the front and rear brake separately?
Yes, the set contains the TRP Hylex Front / Left and the TRP Hylex Rear / Right brake. It is simply more convenient to order both together.
Can I use these levers with a gear hub?
Yes, as long as the hub is shifted by its own control. The Hylex levers only brake and have no shifting function.
What rotors do I need?
Two 1.8 mm thick disc rotors. The supplied front adapter is for a 160 mm front rotor; there is no rear adapter in the set. Rotors are not included.
Can I fit the brakes myself?
If you are comfortable with hydraulic brakes, yes. Shortening the hoses requires a bleed with mineral oil. Otherwise we recommend a bike workshop.
